Networking Tips from Larry Benet

Posted in Networking Print This Print This

Last week I had the opportunity to go to a networking event for speakers and meet over 100 other colleagues in Tampa. I ran into Larry Benet, who teaches how to be more effective at networking and, typical to his style, he gave me a free gift just to be nice.

It was a CD with some great points about how networking should be about making a real connection, finding out what you can do for others, and the importance of having a system for following up with all of the contacts you make.

Anyway, a quick networking tip I want to give to you all that I learned from Larry is to always ask people you meet what they’re looking for help with. This lets you:

1) Find out what’s important to them,

2) Have an idea of steps you can take to help them out, and

3) Position yourself from the beginning as someone who is interested in helping them succeed.

So, in return, I figure the right thing to do would be to help him out in return. So here’s a link to his website—I hope you find what he teaches as useful as I have!

Thanks Alan for the kind words.
A great way to be a resource for others is when you find out
people have virtual team-you can always mention you know
of a product by Alan Brymer that can help them.

When i speak to real estate investors for example
there is about 5-10 resources I know of that can help
whether they are a beginner or a very advanced investor.

I would recommend you do the same.
