Alan Sells Out and Blogs for Money

For years, I thought blogs were the lamest thing in the world—never reading them, writing them, or caring about them in the least. Why in the world people would be interested in a play-by-play account of someone’s daily ramblings or activities was beyond me.
Well, I mean it IS fun to read someone else’s diary. But when they wrote it for the purpose of publishing it for the world to see, the odds of reading anything truly juicy are as good as your chances of getting a subprime buyer qualified anytime this decade. To me, letting everyone on the planet know how high your two year-old can count this week (assuming it’s read by anyone else but the excited blogger) is asking for trouble and begging for stalkers.
However, quite a few people have created interesting and well-read blogs, which has drawn my attention to what, in my opinion, is the only redeeming quality of the blasted things…MONEY.
I might as well get that out in the open now, but I will at least show you how this is for the benefit of everybody. Here’s how it’s going to go down:
* I write things that you like, learn from, or are interested in
* You come to my website to read my blog
* You leave happy, smarter, and amused
* Some people, while there, will swing by the products page and buy something
* I make more money, which convinces me to blog more and provide you with more things that you like, learn from, and so on, in an upward spiral, until the entire world becomes happier, smarter, and hyper-amused at a geometric rate.
Except that some people won’t read it. And some people won’t like it. And most people won’t know when I’m joking and when I’m not (Don’t ask). This will happen because on my blog, I get to be a little informal, a little more personal, and be ME more than in those stuffy old articles I write.
So I’m not going to write this at a 6th-grade level and misspell words on purpose and do things that other gurus intentionally do (thought they do work) to create more sales. I think it’s time that single-family investing, as an industry, advances to the 7th grade or even beyond.
So I can try to please everyone and be boring, or I can give the few (albeit high-intelligence) people who frequent this page the chance to read something that really tickles their fancy (though if what I write legitimately sucks, let me know and I’ll do something about it).
Well, is your fancy being tickled? You tell me by posting a comment below. Get ready to have a lot of fun, because the blog has begun. (cue-theme-music)

I think your writing legitimately rocks! I throughly enjoyed the three articles I read through this evening and look forward to what is to come.
