What is RSS? Here’s my super-simple definition:
It’s a new way to get notified whenever I put up a new article, audio, or video on this site. Instead of getting an email, you’ll get a notification on some other website, like Google Reader. Whenever you want to see what new stuff has been put up on the sites that you like, you can go to this place (Google Reader or whoever you use) and it’s all there waiting for you.

Honestly, it’s a lot more confusing that it needs to be. Here’s all you need to know…susbcribe to my blog via RSS and you’ll be notified whenever I put up something new.
My Thoughts on Subscribing via RSS
Some people prefer this over email notification. I do not. But some people love it and it’s probably the way of the future since everyone’s complaining about email overload and this is said to be a better way to organize it.
Personally, I’m more old-fasioned and prefer receiving email. I subscribe to a bunch of blogs and then never get around to logging in to my blog reader and reading them. I’m serious…months go by and then it’s too much to read. On the other hand, when I see emails in my inbox that are from people I like that look interesting, I open and read them right away and get to enjoy them.
So…
1) If you like subscribing to blogs via RSS — Subscribe by RSS and Email
Subscribe to my blog, but don’t forget to also subscribe to my email newsletter because I make announcements, discounts, news, freebies, and other things there that I don’t put on the blog.
2) If you hate RSS and prefer email only — Subscribe by Email
Although, frankly, you might want to at least try subscribing to a blog via RSS and see what it’s like. This could be the first blog you subscribe to. Worst case, you never come back to it and my subscriber numbers look better and I look good.
3) If you’re not sure – Subscribe by RSS and Email
Try subscribing by RSS feed as well as by email. You’ll receive a different free report or ebook with each one to keep forever. Subscribing to both does NOT mean you will get more email than subscribing to just one. If it turns out you prefer one over the other, then just unsubscribe from the format you don’t like and everyone still wins.
